Vickie’s condition has not improved noticeably for some time now. Despite new medications she is exhibiting the same behaviors she had several months ago.

Wednesday, September 27, 2006

The operators of the home where Vickie is now staying have installed closed circuit television cameras in the resident’s rooms. The cameras are to monitor the residents and activities in the rooms. Visitors should be aware of the surveillance. For privacy the cameras can be temporarily covered.

Vickie’s infection will be treated with another anti-biotic. She still seems, as much as can be expected, to be in good spirits.

Thursday, September 21, 2006

We are still waiting for the lab results to see if Vickie has another infection. She doesn’t show any overt signs of distress so it’s hard to tell.

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

Vickie showed no change today.

Monday, September 18, 2006

Vickie was quiet today, she may have another infection. We should know in a few days.

Sunday, September 17, 2006

Vickie visited at a sister’s home this afternoon.

Saturday, September 16, 2006

There have been no changes or improvements in Vickie’s condition during the last few days.

Monday, September 11, 2006

Vickie did well today. There may be a slight improvement in her memory but it’s difficult to be sure.
We are having some problems with her meals and feeding but hopefully they can be resolved.

Sunday, September 10, 2006

This evening Vickie wanted to know what year it was and how long she had been where she is now. She wasn’t able to resolve the difference in the last years in relationship to what she could remember.

Vickie’s foster home caregiver is an ardent believer in organic healthy food. She eschews processed and junk food. Caregiver probably would have disapproved of Vickie eating a Burger King hamburger and French fries this evening while staying at home overnight. Dessert was a chocolate pie brought by Vickie’s brother-in-law.

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Vickie’s behavior has taken a new but somewhat negative turn. At times she believes she hears voices telling her to do non-sensible things. Otherwise there are no significant changes.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Vickie had a fairly good day. With some cooperation, menu wise, from the caregiver her appetite was better.

Tuesday, September 05, 2006

Vickie kept her Dr. appointment this afternoon. The Neurologist was impressed with Vickie’s improved demeanor. She will start a new medication for the purpose of increasing her cognitive ability.

Monday, September 04, 2006

This morning Daughter-in-law gave Vickie a spiffy hair trim.
The overnight stay went well. We will probably do more home visits since there were no problems.
Vickie returned to her residence after noon.

Sunday, September 03, 2006

Vickie was able to attend a family gathering at a niece’s this evening. She liked the cake and homemade ice-cream.
After the get-together Vickie returned to her home for the first time in a month. She will stay over night before returning to her foster-care residence in the morning.
